With over 25 years of experience in financial and corporate communications, Karyn is a seasoned strategist specialising in guiding boards and executive teams through complex communication challenges, issues and crisis management including brand and reputation rebuilding.
After commencing her career as a finance journalist at The Daily Telegraph and The Australian, Karyn moved into financial communications and has worked in a diverse range of publicly listed companies, domestically and internationally. She brings a broad range of skills including stakeholder engagement, media relations, investor relations, employee and digital communications and sustainability.
Most recently, Karyn led Suncorp Group’s Corporate & Regulatory Affairs team through the divestment of Suncorp Bank to ANZ, successfully securing a range of regulatory approvals. She has also held senior leadership roles at organisations including Bank of Queensland, Stockland and AMP. Throughout her career, Karyn has led a number of high-profile issues and announcements such as CEO transitions, cybersecurity incidents, parliamentary inquiries, financial crises and major restructuring efforts.
Karyn is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ course, holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW, and a Diploma in Financial Markets from the Securities Institute of Australia (now FINSIA).
